Methicillin-resistent Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

What is MRSA? Staph aureus is a bacteria commonly found on the skin of healthly people. Methicillin is an antibiotic that is commonly used to treat staph infections. Some staph have developed resistance to methicillin and can no longer be used to cure the infection. These resistant bacteria are called methicillin resistant Staph aureus or MRSA.
