Presbyterian Women's Center offers health education classes for women of all ages.
Programs and Classes
Presbyterian Women's Center offers a variety of programs, classes and special events. Below is a description of our regular, on-going programs. For specific information on dates, times, locations and cost, please call 704-384-CARE.
Prenatal Education
Presbyterian offers a variety of classes for expectant and new parents.
Osteoporosis Group Program
This three-week program is a combination of exercise and education targeting men and women who are at risk for, or have bone loss. The instructors include a physician, registered dietitian and physical therapist and may be covered by some insurance. Call 704-384-CARE for more information.
Do You Have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis (Thin Bones)?
For those diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, you can receive an individual consultation with a registered dietitian, physical therapist and nurse. This will include personal assessments of your nutritional and physical status and a review of your medical history and risk factors. The consultation lasts about 90 minutes. Understanding Your Hysterectomy
This is for women either having a hysterectomy, or considering a hysterectomy. Information will be given to help you understand the hospital experience and recovery time. A support person is welcome. Call 704-384-CARE for more information.
Supersitters
Young adults, ages 11-13, will learn how to provide safe care for younger children. Topics include child development, safety tips, first aid, accident management and rescue breathing. Call 704-384-CARE for information on cost and registration.
