| Corneal transplantation is recommended for patients with severe infection, injury, damage, scarring or eyes that no longer allow light to pass through. Surgery will replace the clear covering of the eye that is damaged and no longer transparent. |
Surgery
Corneal transplant is a painless procedure performed while the patient is awake. The damaged cornea is removed and the corneal graft is stitched in place.
