Spinal problems can often be corrected with therapeutic techniques. However, if surgery is necessary, we provide the most advanced treatments available, including innovative fixation (or spinal stabilization) techniques called Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty. These procedures use cement to help stabilize spines that have weakened due to fractures or deformities. We also offer minimally-invasive surgery for herniated discs and reconstructive spinal surgery for patients with spinal deformities or complex injuries. In addition, our orthopaedic surgeons have extensive experience treating patients who have had spine surgery in the past.
Due to the advanced medical and surgical technologies available at our hospital, many patients can have minor spine surgery in the morning, be on their feet and return home the very same day. If necessary, we provide case managers to help coordinate post-operative care, including rehabilitation.
Spinal problems that can be treated surgically include:
- Cervical & lumbar disc herniation
- Congenital deformities
- Degenerative diseases of the spine
- Kyphosis (humpback)
- Occupational injuries
- Osteoporosis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Scoliosis
- Spinal stenosis
- Spondylolysis
- Spondylolisthesis
- Trauma/fracture to the spine
- Tumors
