What should I bring when my child comes to Hemby Children's Hospital?

We have a great play area full of toys and books, and we will provide meals for your child as well as a guest tray for a parent. We have a kitchen area stocked with juices and snacks, and even a laundry room for you to use.
- If your child is having surgery, we recommend you bring the following: comfortable clothes that are easy to remove or replace, special stuffed animal, blanket or pillow, favorite toy and/or movie and warm socks.
Do you have set visiting hours?
- No, we welcome and encourage family members and friends to come and spend time with our patients.
Will I be able to stay with my child?
- Absolutely! We feel that it is important for your child's health that you are nearby. We have day beds in all of our pediatric rooms, as well as a microwave and refrigerator for your use.
Will the staff be qualified to take care of my child?
- All of our nurses, CNAs and secretaries work only with kids and take continuing medical education courses to make sure the hospital is current on all the advancements in treatments plans. In addition, our physicians are specially trained to work with children, and our Child Life staff even train our volunteers so that we can be sure they are helping us provide excellent care.
