Hyperthermia
Hyperthermia is the clinical use of heat, combined with radiation, to sensitize cancer cells to the damaging effect of radiation on the cells.
Cancers treated by hyperthermia
  • Breast
  • Chest Wall
  • Head and Neck
  • Pelvis
  • Melanoma
  • Research shows that heat is an effective means of killing cancerous cells. However, heat by itself is not able to complete all of the cells and cure the cancer. That is why hyperthermia, the clinical use of heat, is often combined with radiation therapy as an effective cancer treatment method.
