About four million people need blood each year - one every 12 seconds. When we think of the need for blood, we often think of emergencies, but for thousands of Americans, transfusions are a way of life. People suffering from cancer, heart disease, leukemia and other major illnesses need blood on a regular basis to survive. Blood use varies greatly from patient to patient, depending on whether or not there are complications.
Donating blood is a simple process that saves about 4.5 million American lives each year.
Donors must be at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more.
For your convenience, Presbyterian has easily accessible blood donation locations.
