A distinguished board of local, professional, business and civic leaders oversee operations and philanthropic and investment activities for the Foundation. Our job is to raise money to improve the health of our community and to ensure that our assets are invested prudently and wisely. We work closely with donors and their advisors to provide excellent philanthropic advice and information attuned to their personal financial and charitable objectives.
Philanthropy, through the Foundation, has helped to build the Cancer Center, the Blume Children's Cancer Clinic, Harris Hospice Unit, Hemby Children's Hospital, and most recently the Buddy Kemp Caring House. Philanthropy has also led to the establishment of important and lasting endowments in nursing, as well as other areas in patient care, education and research.
Incorporated in 1980, the not-for-profit Foundation began operating as a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization in 1985. In 2004, the Foundation became an official entity of Presbyterian Healthcare. Since 1980, the Foundation has generated almost $46 million in philanthropy. The Foundation manages 227 funds and more than $30 million in assets.
