November 1, 2006 - The staff at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews celebrated the births of some if its smallest babies Oct. 28 with a day of fun, food and festivities. More than 40 babies and their families attended the reunion held at Hemby Special Care Nursery at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews.
October 11, 2006 - Now having three of its Charlotte-area hospitals certified as primary stroke centers, Presbyterian has ensured optimal care for all of its stroke patients.
August 2, 2006 -- Presbyterian Hospital Matthews nurse Amy Vance was recently named to North Carolinas prestigious Great 100 in nursing due to her excellence in nursing and commitment to the profession.
June 6, 2006 - The President's Award, for commitment to service excellence for patients, physicians and employees, is the highest recognition presented by Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a nationally known healthcare research company. Each year PRC presents the President's Award to only one healthcare organization in the nation.
May 9, 2006 - On April 5, the hospital finished the final phase of the expansion and opened its doors to the public.
May 15, 2006 - Presbyterian Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews recently were named winners of several awards from VHA, Inc., for best practices, clinical and leadership excellence. VHA, Inc. is a nationwide network of more than 2,200 community-owned healthcare organizations.
April 24, 2006-- Presbyterian Hospital physicians at the main hospital in Charlotte and in Matthews now have one of the nations fastest CT scanners to help them quickly diagnose chest pain, stroke and other life-threatening diseases.
