Is full-time attendance required?
Full-time attendance, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM through 3:30 PM is required. The program is a combination of class and clinical education experience. Completion of a trauma rotation, Monday through Friday from 1 PM through 8 PM for a 2 week period is required during 2 semesters.
May I transfer courses?
The program does not accept transfer courses from other radiology porgrams and does not grant advanced placement to any student.
May I get a refund on the application fee?
No refunds are made on any fee or tuition payment.
May I apply for admission before I finish the pre-requisite courses?
To be an eligible applicant, you must complete the pre-requisites or show proof of enrollment in pre-requisites by the application deadline of January 15. All eligible applicants will be interviewed; however, applicants who have completed pre-requisites will be considered before those who are in the process of completing. If accepted, entrance is contingent upon proof of a "C" or above on all pre-requisites.
Is financial aid available?
The Presbyterian Hospital Radiologic Technology Program is not approved to participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs including Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Federal Work Study, Federal Stafford Loans (FFELP & Direct), and Federal Perkins Loans.
When should I apply?
Applications are accepted between October 1 and January 15 for the class beginning the following August.
Is there a waiting list?
The Presbyterian Hospital Radiologic Technology Program does not maintain a waiting list. Any qualified applicant who is not accepted may reactivate his or her application by contacting the faculty during the next application period. The applicant does not need to send another application or pay an additional application fee. The faculty will request updated contact information, current references and transcripts if additional courses were completed since the previous application.
What salary can I expect to make as a radiologic technologist?
Starting annual salary for a radiologic technologist in this region is $36,000 to $41,000.
Who are the faculty members?
Betsy Shields, BSRT(R), Program Director, has 28 years of experience in the field with 21 years in education of radiologic technologists. Richard Hardin, RT(R), Instructor, has 32 years in the field with experience in administration and education.
