Novant Health Matthews Medical Center is proud to serve the Matthews and surrounding community for almost 20 years. We appreciate the community’s support and are excited about our major expansion project, which will allow us to further meet community needs.
About Our Expansion Project
Construction for the fifth floor expansion project is underway. Twenty new inpatient rooms and 12 observation rooms will be added. The hospital currently has 117 beds. As part of the project, the Intensive Care Unit and the Intermediate Care Unit will be relocated to the fifth floor. Cancer services will also be located on the fifth floor and will be designed to provide patients with a holistic atmosphere to promote healing.
Construction Updates
- Expected completion date is October 2013.
- For construction safety reasons, the pond side parking lot is closed.
- Public parking is now on the opposite side of the hospital. A new 409 dedicated employee parking lot was constructed, which opened spaces for public parking.
- For safety reasons, all balconies, as well as the courtyards and patios are closed.
