Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center provides services for women before, during and after birth.

Huntersville Medical Center understands that the needs of every woman are as unique as the woman herself. We are excited to be a part of your birthing experience.

Family Maternity Center

The Family Maternity Center at Huntersville Medical Center offers special parking spaces near the front door for laboring mothers and labor-delivery-recovery suites, decorated in soft colors with home-like touches such as TVs, DVD/VCR players, refrigerators, glider rockers and Internet access. After recovery, mother and baby are transferred to our new mother-baby unit where mothers have the option to have their baby stay in their room to enhance bonding. These new rooms also have many home-like conveniences such as large bathrooms and comfortable sofa beds. Neonatal nurse practitioners are on-site 24-7 to support the Maternity Center in case a high-risk delivery occurs.

Special Care Nursery

Our maternity services are supported by a Level III neonatal intensive care unit to provide care for premature and seriously-ill newborns.  Neonatologists work closely with specially-trained registered nurses, respiratory therapists, medical social workers and others to provide care around the clock.  We are supported by a Level IV nursery at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte that provides the highest level of care available for premature or critically-ill newborns. Learn more »

The Nursing Mother's Place

The Nursing Mother's Place at Huntersville Medical Center is a comprehensive lactation center that supports the mother's choice to breast-feed. Board-certified lactation consultants offer a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. Online Nursery

Soon after your delivery, one of our photographers will set up an appointment with you to take baby's first official photograph. Portraits can be seen at the time the photographs are taken, allowing you to choose your favorites on a full screen monitor from the comfort of your bed.

You'll also have the opportunity to order creative birth announcements, photo packages, and new baby keepsakes for your whole family. And, you can create a secure, personalized webpage for your baby. The webpage is password-protected and you can share it with your friends and family easily.
