Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center's Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer® as an Integrated Cancer Program. Our Cancer Center has helped residents in our community beat cancer and lead full, happy lives. Our patients benefit from a customized approach to cancer care. We provide a variety of treatment options and support programs so that every survivor's physical and emotional needs are met through treatment and beyond.
Cancer Nurse Navigators
Huntersville Medical Center Cancer Center is pointing newly-diagnosed cancer patients in the right direction thanks to the cancer patient navigator program. We have a dedicated cancer nurse navigator with specialized training in oncology to offer patient and family support by explaining the diagnosis and treatment plan, answering questions and acting as a resource for the journey through cancer. The nurse also provides patient and family with access to community resources and psychosocial support services.

Multidisciplinary Care: Experts at Huntersville Medical Center use a team approach and collaborate weekly to evaluate and discuss the best treatment options for each patient.

Outpatient Oncology Care Unit
Located on the first floor of Huntersville Medical Center, this unit can be accessed from the main lobby within the hospital. The outpatient unit provides daily care for adult oncology and hematology patients and those who require oncology nursing care.
The unit is staffed by a team of registered nurses who have completed special training in oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration.
Cancer Rehabilitation Services
Good nutrition, exercise and general wellness are crucial during cancer treatment. Huntersville Medical Center Cancer Center provides a range of special programs to help patients with symptom management:
- Lymphedema services
- Pelvic floor therapy for men and women, post-surgery and radiation
- Therapy: physical, occupational and speech, including swallowing therapy.
