Amy was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. She and her family relocated to North Carolina in 2002 from New York City, where she previously worked at The New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center for 17 years as a registered nurse holding various staff and leadership positions. Amy received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y., where she attended on an athletic scholarship. Amy received her Master’s in Nursing Administration from New York University in 1996 and her Masters in Business Administration from Wingate University in December 2009.
Amy is active in the community and resides with her five-year-old daughter, Grace Emily, in Matthews, N.C. In addition to her previous service on the board of the Matthews Health Clinic, the Levine Senior Center, the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce, Amy is currently on the Board of Trustees for Discovery Place.
