Renal Pelvis and Ureter Surgery

If you have transitional cell cancer in your upper urinary tract, you may need your renal pelvis or ureter removed. Our skilled surgeons often use laparoscopic surgery to shorten recovery time, reduce pain during recovery and lower the chance of infection compared to traditional surgery.

Renal pelvis and ureter removal may take around three and a half hours, with a one-to-two-day hospital stay. Your complete recovery may take two to three weeks, but the laparoscopy surgery gives the fastest return to your normal lifestyle.
