Competitive Edge Sports Screening Day
Novant Health's Competitive Edge Sports Screening Day serves student-athletes of Union County Public Schools and various Lake Norman area schools each spring. This free service includes the annual sports screening required by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, an EKG (heart screening) and other important health screenings. Learn More »

Novant Health athletic trainers and physicians care for athletes in Union County high schools, providing game-day medical care along with ongoing treatment and annual sports physicals. World’s Strongest Man Competition
Novant Health Sports Medicine physicians provided care for athletes from all over the world at the six-day 2011 MET-Rx World’s Strongest Man competition. Physicians were on hand to provide care for any medical need, including physical and massage therapy to treat and prevent injuries.
Charlotte UltraSwim® Competition
Novant Health sports medicine experts provide medical care for athletes in the annual Charlotte UltraSwim®, which has attracted more than 600 athletes each year, including Olympic swimmers Michael Phelps and Cullen Jones. Novant Health is the official care provider for USA Canoe/Kayak, a non-profit organization that promotes canoe and kayak racing and is a member of the US Olympic Committee. Our sports medicine team provided 24-hour care to athletes at the 2011 and 2012 US National Team trials. Learn more »
