How long does the test take?
It varies depending on which test your doctor requests. Some tests will require as little as a half hour, while others may take several hours.
Do I need to bring anything along to my appointment?
Yes, you need to bring a signed physician's order along with your insurance cards, photo identification and any referral forms.
What do I do when I arrive?
Upon arrival, please sign in at the front desk. Please have your insurance cards, physician order, identification and any other paperwork ready.
Should I take my medication before the exam?
Unless your physician or preparation information instructs you otherwise, you should take all medications as usual.
Is there any preparation required for my exam?
The preparation for your exam depends on the type of study your physician ordered. Click here to see the preparation page.
Will my physician get my images?
Only if requested. Your physician will get a report sent to him/her immediately upon finalization by the radiologist.
What will I wear for my study?
Depending on the scan you are having you may be asked to change into a patient gown.

How much radiation will I be exposed to?
It depends on the exam, but with most procedures, the amount of exposure is comparable to the amount of radiation that any individual receives from normal background radiation in our environment over several months.
