At Novant Health Hospice & Palliative Care, we provide remarkable physical, emotional and spiritual care to patients at end of life. The physical level of care - providing medical care, pain and symptom management for patients - is obvious to most people. But not so obvious are the emotional and spiritual support components that make hospice care unique for not only our patients but also for our patients' families.

Prayer Ministry and Prayer Wall

Our prayer ministry, made up of local faith communities and prayer groups, support the need of not only our hospice patients and families, but also the needs of patients, visitors and staff of Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Leave your healing and intercessory prayer requests at our Prayer Wall, located in the courtyard of Presbyterian Medical Center, and have peace in the knowledge that our prayer ministry groups will reverently and respectfully lift your request in prayer.

Jack Matney Memorial Labyrinth

The Jack Matney Memorial Labyrinth offers a place of peace and solace for patients and families of Presbyterian Medical Center. Jack Matney was a patient of Novant Health Hospice & Palliative Care’s inpatient, Harris Hospice unit within Presbyterian Medical Center. Through the difficult journey with her husband, Linda Matney needed a spiritual outlet - beyond the chapel, beyond the walls of the hospital, and close enough to be at the side of her loved one in a moment’s notice. The same deep faith that brought Jack and Linda Matney together inspired Linda to create the labyrinth as an affirmation of the life of her husband, Jack.

Weisiger Chapel

The Weisiger Chapel serves as an inspiring place for prayer, meditation, thanksgiving, intercession and release for not only our patients at the end of life's journey and their families, but also patients, visitors and staff throughout Presbyterian Medical Center.

Chaplains

Our chaplains provide spiritual comfort for patients and their families. They support the patients' individual faith organizations, ministering to and connecting patients and their families to their faith.
