Giving Gardens is a volunteer program that touches the hearts of our hospice patients and their families through gifts from nature. Each year, we deliver over 1,000 bouquets of flowers to our patients.
Sometimes the simplest things in life bring the most joy. For patients who are unable to get out of bed and enjoy the outdoors, Giving Gardens volunteers bring a bit of the outdoors to them. From carefully arranged bouquets of flowers to fresh tomatoes and rosemary, our Giving Gardens program nurtures the spiritual and emotional needs of hosipice patients and their families. Volunteer opportunities include:
Bouquet Specialists:
Learn from local floral designers how to pick the best flowers so arrangements stay fresh and last longer. Then design and create arrangements for outpatient families and those in our inpatient hospice unit. Volunteers are also needed for deliveries
Gardeners:
Grow tomatoes and herbs; cultivate, work and maintain the gardens that feed our Giving Gardens program.
Special Project Designers:
Create memorial wreaths, special mementos for celebrations and wreaths for our annual fundraiser.
