Our emergency departments are open and available to help you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
When do the doctors work?
We always have doctors who are board-certified in emergency medicine at our emergency departments, no matter what time you visit.
I’m not sure if I need to come to the emergency department. Can you give me medical advice over the phone?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide medical advice over the phone. However, we are always available to serve anyone in need.
If you or a loved one experience any of the following symptoms, please visit the Novant Health emergency fepartment nearest you or call 911:
- Chest pain
- Stroke
- Serious injury or trauma
- Difficulty breathing
However, many symptoms and conditions can be treated just as effectively at a
Novant Health Urgent Care. These include:
- Cough
- Sprains, strains and bone fractures
- Sore throat
- Cold and fever
- Headache
- Flu-like symptoms
- Rashes and bug bites
- Sinus infections
- Ear and eye infections
- Scratches and minor cuts
What if I need more advanced care or need to be admitted?
As part of the Novant Health family, our emergency departments work closely with our hospitals and specialists. If you need a higher level of care or need to be admitted, our experts are located just steps away.
Do I have to pay before being treated?
