Novant Health Cancer Center believes that young adults with cancer have unique needs and should be treated with a customized approach to treatment that addresses the social, emotional and physical concerns related to their diagnosis.
Cancer does not discriminate. It can affect everyone – even those typically considered healthy, like young adults. In fact, each year almost 70,000 young adults between the ages of 15 and 39 are diagnosed with cancer.
In contrast to every other cancer population, survival rates for young adults haven’t increased in the past 30 years. For this reason, Novant Health Cancer Center is committed to addressing the specific emotional and physical needs of this group to increase survivorship.
