Weight loss isn't just a matter of watching what you eat. Sometimes surgery is needed or sometimes it's a combination plan of healthy eating, exercise and stress management that makes the difference. 

We know that losing weight isn't easy. What works for one person isn't always the best option for someone else. That's why we work with you to understand your weight loss goals, your lifestyle and your health history so that we can design a weight loss plan just for you. 

A key part of your treatment will be your weight loss team that will be here to support you from your first appointment to surgery, recovery and beyond. This team will help you:
  • Decide which weight loss option is best for you
  • Access classes, counseling and nutrition support
  • Manage the practical matters such as insurance and follow-up appointments 
Should your plan include surgery, we have one of the most experienced teams in the region to help you, every step of the way. In addition to physicians and nurses specializing in bariatric care, your support team will include:

Bariatric Coordinator
Cleo Caldwell, RN, Bariatric Coordinator–  In Cleo’s more than 20 years as a nurse, she has covered a broad spectrum, from mental health to community care and, most recently, the operating room. She became the bariatric coordinator in 2006. This position, along with our patient-centered focus, encompasses all facets of your experience with us.

Meredith Jefferies, Data Specialist– With more than 15 years of healthcare experience, Meredith brings a variety of work experiences to the table, from providing hands-on care as a nursing assistant, to working as a behavioral health coordinator, to providing financial counseling and working with patient education. She is responsible for managing all bariatric surgery data for Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, as well as many other office duties.
