The Radiologic Technology Program seeks to identify and enroll individuals with character and motivation who have the necessary preparation and potential for success in the program.
Admission decisions are based upon:
- Evaluation of transcripts with attention to strength of course selection, grade point average, degrees awarded and extracurricular and leadership activities
- Patient care experience through work, education or volunteer service
- Written essay
- References
- Interview
Required Prerequisites
To be considered for admission, the applicant must satisfy the following:
- Minimum of associate degree with overall GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited post-secondary education institution (community college, college, or university)
- Courses (100 level or above) completed at an accredited post-secondary education institution (community college, college, or university) with a grade of “C” or higher in:
- 1 course (3 semester hours) of English in written or oral communication skills
- 1 course (3 semester hours) in college algebra or higher
- 1 course (3 semester hours) in social/behavioral science (psychology or sociology)
- 2 courses (4 semester hours each for a total of 8 semester hours) in biology, chemistry or physics (Courses must include labs. Human Anatomy and Physiology is an option but not required.)
If an applicant is in the process of completing prerequisite courses or completing a degree, submission of proof of enrollment must be made by January 15.
Additionally, for international students:
- Certified, translated transcripts
- Social Security number
- Green card with I-9 document establishing authorization to work
Attendance, Transfer and Advanced Placement
Full-time attendance is required. Class and clinical education hours are scheduled on Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The Novant Health Radiologic Technology Program will not accept transfer students nor grant advanced placement in the program.
