When faced with a prostate cancer diagnosis, men are often overwhelmed by the number of treatment options. For that reason, Presbyterian Cancer Center will be holding two information sessions for high risk and newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients during the month of September.

Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital (POH) is one of only four hospitals in the Carolinas named to the “60 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs” list for 2011. Included on the list are nationally renowned medical centers such as Cleveland Clinic, Hospital for Special Surgery and Mayo Clinic. Also included is Rowan Regional Medical Center, located in Salisbury, N.C. and, like POH, a Novant Health facility.
William O. Ntim, MD, FACC, FACP, FASE, cardiologist with Mid Carolina Cardiology, was recently elected as Overseas Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in London, England.

Charlotte has been named the “model city” for a nationwide weight loss campaign developed by Dr. Art Ulene, NBC’s TODAY Show doctor for more than 20 years. The Charlotte Vitality Challenge™, which launches officially on Saturday, Aug. 27, has set a goal of taking a million pounds off the residents of Charlotte.

For the fourth year, the Presbyterian Hospital Community Care Cruiser is offering Big Shot Days to make it possible for un- and underinsured children under the age of 18 to get required immunizations right on time to start the next school year and avoid being excluded from class. New this year, the Cruiser will also offer several Physical Days to allow children to have a comprehensive wellness check before starting the new school year.
