Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte has earned the Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ three-star rating, representing the highest quality of cardiac surgical care. Presbyterian is the only hospital in the Charlotte area consistently ranked as a three-star cardiac surgery program since 2009. Only 14 percent of all cardiac surgery hospitals in the U.S. have received this top ranking, placing our physicans among the nation’s best at consistently providing excellent surgical outcomes. The date range for this award was January through December of 2011.
The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) is a nonprofit organization representing 6,400 surgeons, researchers and allied health care professionals worldwide who are dedicated to ensuring the best possible care for patients who need heart, lung or chest surgery.
