12 Days of Giving

Presbyterian and the Red Cross are partnering to put together a story series to raise awareness for the need to donate blood and platelets all year long and especially at the holidays. The series, called 12 Days of Giving, kicks off Dec. 4 and features 10 Presbyterian patient and caregiver stories spanning from pediatrics to oncology, the NICU, women’s services and sickle cell.

The Red Cross is taking the lead on pitching to the media, with the goal being to feature different patient stories via different media outlets each day of the campaign. The culminating event will be on Dec. 15 at the Hemby Holiday Party. Patients and families are also taking turns visiting Red Cross donor sites in Charlotte and Huntersville to speak to blood donors and share their personal story.

A second component to the story is the toy drive for Hemby Children’s Hospital. Both donor sites will collect toys for our patients during the entire 12 days campaign. This element is being promoted in the media and through our Bob & Sheri radio partnership.
