Presbyterian Outpatient Surgery Center is a 19,600-square-foot-facility that combines comprehensive surgical-eye care, pediatric endoscopy and a diagnostic breast center. The new center officially opened on Feb. 20 and is located at 1800 E. Fourth St., Charlotte, 28204.
“Adding the one-story outpatient center will free up valuable inpatient surgical resources and provide ease of access for patients,” said Ruth Hurley, administrator of the Presbyterian Outpatient Surgery Center. “Right across the street, you have the backing of a world-class tertiary-care facility. You’ve got the best of both worlds, literally within walking distance.”
The center includes six operating rooms and one endoscopy procedure room, incorporating new technology for leading-edge procedures. The center has separate waiting areas for adults and children as well as a dedicated, more private waiting area for breast patients.
Presbyterian celebrated the grand opening of the surgery center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Feb. 29. Event attendees included physicians, hospital leaders and other community leaders.
