Presbyterian Hospital has earned a prestigious three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. This rating represents the highest quality of cardiac surgical care and was achieved by just 11.7 percent of cardiac surgery hospitals in the United States.

Mark Kremers, M.D., FACC, FHRS, has been honored by two national organizations. Dr. Kremers, a cardiologist with Mid Carolina Cardiology and the Presbyterian Cardiovascular Institute, was selected as chair of the national ICD Registry and invited to become a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society.

Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville has been recognized by VHA Inc., the national health care network, as a leader in clinical quality and patient safety for its efforts to reduce the incidence of hospital-acquired infections, specifically Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA infections, which are difficult and expensive to treat if they develop. Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville was one of 13 hospitals in the region to be recognized by VHA’s regional office in Charlotte, N.C.
