Charlotte Children's Hospital Partners with National Nonprofit that Rallies Resources to Improve Children's Health
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital has joined Together for Kids, a national alliance of nonprofit children’s hospitals connecting to raise money to improve care for America’s sick and injured children. As a member, Hemby Children’s Hospital will be able to collaborate with peers within the network and gain access to much-needed funds to help meet the increasing health needs of children. Hemby Children’s Hospital is the fourth hospital in North Carolina to join the alliance.
“We are delighted to have Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital as a new member, especially since Together for Kids was born in North Carolina to support children’s hospitals throughout the country that are experiencing increased needs, yet declining funding,” said Board Chair Crystal Hinson Miller of North Carolina Children’s Hospital at the University of North Carolina. “With this partnership, Together for Kids is now reaching four major areas in North Carolina, which means we can connect even more children with the technology, treatment and programs that will improve their health.”
Founded in 2006, Together for Kids’ primary focus is on raising unrestricted funds for Hemby Children’s Hospital as well as its other member hospitals to help them tackle the toughest children’s health care issues, including childhood obesity and injury prevention. One hundred percent of all funds raised will go directly to providing needed health care for children.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to partner with Together for Kids to deliver a remarkable patient experience to children within our hospital walls and out in the community,” said Pat Campbell, vice president of women’s and children’s services at Presbyterian Hospital. “The work they are doing to champion children’s health issues through hospital collaboration and fundraising is commendable, and we’re honored to be a part of such a stand-up organization.”
Together for Kids consists of more than 40 hospitals serving children throughout the U.S. The alliance also includes 20 Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Additional member hospitals in North Carolina include Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, Mission Children’s Hospital in Asheville and North Carolina Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill. Other member hospitals recently added include Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit.
